Optimal Display Settings for Viewing Our Site

For optimal viewing of the new Duplex web site, your display settings should be set to at least 800 by 600 pixels.  In most cases adjustments are not necessary, however if you are experiencing problems please follow the instructions below.

Windows ‘95
Double-click the 'Display' icon and change the desktop area on the 'Settings' tabbed page.

  1. Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
  2. Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
  3. Double-click 'Display'. (The 'Display Properties' dialog box appears.)
  4. Change the amount of desktop area displayed:
    a) Click the 'Settings' tab.
    b) Move the slider in the 'Desktop area' section to the right or the left until it reads 800 by 600 pixels. (An example of the desktop size appears in the sample monitor.)
    c) Click 'Apply'.
    d) Click 'OK' when the 'Display Properties' prompt appears for the new desktop settings to take effect.

Windows ’98
Right-click the Windows 98 desktop and select 'Properties'. Click the 'Settings' tab and move the slider in the 'Screen area' group to display the desired resolution (800 by 600 pixels). Click 'OK' and click 'OK' again. Click 'Yes' to keep the new setting.

  1. Right-click the Windows 98 desktop and select 'Properties'. (The 'Display Properties' dialog box appears.)
  2. Click the 'Settings' tab.
  3. In the 'Screen area' group, move the slider to display until it reads 800 by 600 pixels.
    NOTE: The available options depend upon the monitor type, but the following resolutions are generally available: '640 x 480 pixels', '800 x 600 pixels', and '1024 x 768 pixels'.
  4. Click 'OK' and click 'OK' again.
  5. Do one of the following:
    a) To keep the newly selected setting, click 'Yes'.
    b) To keep the old setting, click 'No'.

Macintosh

  1. Select Help*? from the desktop toolbar.
  2. Scroll down to video and monitor.
  3. Select how do I magnify the screen image?
  4. Follow the Mac’s Instructions.
